Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
This policy explains what information Go Upsell collects when you install and use our Shopify app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Go Upsell is operated by GOALL-IN LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in the United Kingdom, company number 16435107, registered office 52 Chelsea Gardens, Houghton Regis, England, LU5 5RW. For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, GOALL-IN LTD is the data controller for the information described below.
You can contact us at any time at support@goupsell.app.
2. Scope
Go Upsell is a business-to-business application for Shopify merchants. This policy covers data relating to the merchant who installs and uses the app. We do not collect, store, or process the personal data of your store’s shoppers (end customers). The app applies discounts through Shopify’s own systems and does not receive customer names, addresses, or payment details.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide or authorise through Shopify
When you install the app, Shopify provides us with, and we store, the following:
- Your store’s domain and basic shop details.
- The account owner’s name and email address.
- An access token that authorises the app to act within your store (used to read products and create the discount you configure).
- The upsell settings you create (the product you select and the discount percentage).
Information collected automatically
Like most web services, our servers automatically record limited technical data needed to run and secure the service, including IP address, browser type, operating system, and basic usage logs.
4. What we do not collect
- We do not collect or store your shoppers’ personal data.
- We never see or store payment card numbers, bank details, or passwords — billing is handled entirely by Shopify.
- We do not collect special category (“sensitive”) data, biometric data, or data from children.
5. How we use information and our legal bases
- To provide the service (performance of a contract): authenticating your store, saving your offer, and creating the discount you set up.
- To keep the service secure and working (legitimate interests): diagnosing errors, preventing fraud and abuse, and understanding usage trends so we can improve the app.
- To support you and send essential notices (performance of a contract / legitimate interests): replying to your enquiries and sending administrative messages about your account, billing, or material changes.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not send marketing newsletters.
6. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under appropriate data processing agreements, so that the app can function:
- Hosting provider — runs the application server.
- Database provider — securely stores your settings and session.
- Shopify — the platform the app runs on and which handles billing.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
7. International transfers
Our hosting and database providers are based in the United States, so your information may be transferred to and processed outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the equivalent UK provisions.
8. How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as the app is installed on your store. When you uninstall the app, your session and the upsell settings we hold for your store are deleted automatically. We may retain limited records where the law requires us to (for example, for tax or accounting).
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled infrastructure, and reputable cloud providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you are based, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to data portability. You can exercise the right to deletion at any time by uninstalling the app, or by emailing us. To make any other request, contact support@goupsell.app and we will respond within the time required by law.
If you are in the UK or EEA and believe we have not handled your data properly, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
11. Notice for California residents
We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email support@goupsell.app.
12. Children
Go Upsell is a tool for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will notify you by email or within the app.
